According to latest rumors from SAR, the long awaited major firmware updates for Sony a1 and a7S III will be released on March 27 or March 28 this week.
For the α1, updates include still/movie shooting, breathing compensation for video, relay playback, workflow enhancements, and proof of authenticity features. The α7S III will receive updates for breathing compensation, DCI 4K at 24.00P recording, IPTC and FTP workflow enhancements, and support for C2PA format. These updates aim to improve user experience and creative possibilities, with specific enhancements to be rolled out regionally. These firmware updates represent Sony’s commitment to continuously refine and improve their camera technology for users.
