As already rumored before, Sony will announce a new high-end APS-C mirrorless camera in late May 2021. New rumors said that this new camera will not be named Sony a6700, maybe it will be named a6800 or a6900. This new camera will have similar design as a7C. Below are rumored specs of Sony a6900/a6800:
EOSHD user Androidlad has leaked upcoming Sony’s new image sensor IMX671AQR. According to the leaked specs sheet, this sensor is an APS-C CMOS sensor, it has 43MP, can record 8K video at 12 bit, it also has stacked DRAM and up to 16 bit depth for stills images.
Sony currently has three new camera codes haven’t yet announced, according to Nokishita Camera, all these three cameras are E-mount mirrorless cameras. Now according to SAR, two cameras will be announced at the end of this month, and both are APS-C mirrorless cameras. The third camera will be a full frame mirrorless camera, to be announced in September/October, 2019.
We still have three unannounced Sony cameras got registered at certification body. All these three cameras could be announced within 1-2 months. Today Nokishita camera said all these three cameras could be interchangeable lens cameras, not compact cameras.
Sony has just registered a new camera code WW942051 in Asia. According to certification body, this camera code is also Equipped with Wi-Fi (5.8/5.1/2.4 GHz) and Bluetooth, same as recently announced Sony a7R IV (B&H Photo Video/Adorama/Amazon), so this could be another high-end model from Sony, mostly likely the upcoming Sony a7S III or Sony a9 II or a7000 or RX1R III.
Sony official website AlphaUniverse now posted that the live stream announcement for Sony’s new cameras will happened on 10:00 AM ET, July 16th. This means we are less than 24 hours for new Sony cameras. Stay tuned for more leaks !
Sony has just registered the fourth camera code WW642826 in China, this means there will be a total of four cameras to be announced in the second half of 2019 !
