Sony a9 Firmware 6.0 Coming in September

Not only are there all these announcements for APS-C, Sony is again updating its flagship a9 with new features. Firmware version 6.0 is due out in September, and will add Real-time Eye AF for Animals and Interval Shooting for Time Lapse. Both features are notable and it is very important to see that Sony is supporting its existing lineup of cameras, effectively making them a new camera with continuous firmware updates.

Sony VENICE Firmware Version 5.0 with advanced HFR capabilities up to 90fps at 6K

Sony today has announced the firmware version 5.0 for VENICE camera, with advanced HFR capabilities up to 90fps at 6K 2.39:1 and 72fps at 6K 17:9, HD ProRes 4444 and more.

Sony a7 III & a7R III Firmware Version 3.0 now Released !

As rumored before, Sony released firmware version 3.0 for its a7R III (Amazon/Adorama/B&H Photo Video) and a7 III (Amazon/B&H Photo/Adorama) full-frame mirrorless cameras, bringing enhanced real-time Eye AF functionality as well as an Eye AF mode designed specifically for animals. Firmware update 3.0 is available to download now on Sony’s website via the Sony a7R III support page and the Sony a7 III support page.

Sony a7 III & a7R III Firmware Version 3.0 will be Released on April 11

According to latest rumors, Sony will officially released the firmware version 3.0 for a7R III (Amazon/Adorama/B&H Photo Video) and a7 III (Amazon/B&H Photo/Adorama) on April 11. The new firmware version 3.0 will include the Real-time Eye AF in AF-C mode. Real-Time Eye AF for animals will be included. The a7R III and the a7 III will also receive interval recording functionality (like the new a6400).
