Sigma boldly claims that the lens’s image quality rivals that of prime lenses and even surpasses its own 24mm F1.4 and 50mm F1.4 Art lenses. To achieve this, the lens incorporates three aspherical and five SLD elements, along with an 11-bladed aperture. The optical design prioritizes excellent performance at wide apertures and minimizes longitudinal chromatic aberration.

Sigma has officially announced the new 24-70mm f/2.8 DG DN II Art lens for Sony E-mount and L-mount. The US price for this lens is $1,199, now available for pre-order at B&H Photo Video/Adorama. The release date for this lens is on May 31st, 2024.

The Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN II | Art is a new lens that improves upon its predecessor in several ways. Despite having a similar 19 element, 15 group design with 6 FLD and 2 SLD elements, the new lens features five aspheric elements instead of three, indicating a new optical formula. The lens is slightly smaller and 10% lighter than the previous version.
