Interview with Sony Managers by Imaging Resource

Imaging Resource recently has made an interview with Sony’s Senior General Managers ahead of Sony a7R V launch. They talk about many camera related topics, you can read the full interview here.

  • Photo still market decline, while video market is increasing due to COVID, and Sony thinks still market will be back when COVID is over.
  • APS-C is still important, Sony needs to focus more on making APS-C bodies
  • The ZV-E10 covers the lower end of the range for the vlogger crowd, and the FX30 offers a significant step up in capability for ZV-E10 users looking to take the next step.
  • Sony still produces and supports the RX series, they haven’t quit the RX series yet.
  • Sony will definitely be announcing more advanced AIAF soon.
  • The original 70-200mm f/2.8 is still being sold while Sony released the Mark II version
  • We cannot comment on our future lens roadmap, but we have a lot of new lens ideas which we would like to release in the future. Please look forward to it.
